Community Outreach Volunteers has recently partnered with Jewish Child and Family Services to assist in the recruitment of foster parents in the Chicago Metropolitan area. As a contractor with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, JCFS is responsible for the placement and stabilization of children who are wards of the state of Illinois. The number of children who are in need of substitute care exceeds the number of available, qualified foster parents. Therefore, JCFS conducts information meetings throughout Chicago and at its headquarters office at 216 W. Jackson. COV assists these efforts by helping JCFS connect with organizations that may have members who are interested in foster
